Description
The air-powered GuardAir AirSpade excavates dirt from around root systems efficiently with minimal root damage using only compressed air. The AIR-SPADE® is a rugged and durable handheld tool that produces a stream of supersonic air moving at Mach 2. The AIR-SPADE® effectively penetrates and dislodges most types of soil, but is harmless to non-porous objects such as plant roots, buried pipes, or cables. This powerful tree care tool clears high volumes of material with minimal effort.

Notes about Air compressors with the Air-Spade:
- CFM (cubic feet per minute) is a measure of the amount of air flowing
- PSI (pounds per square inch) is a measure of the air pressure
- The Standard Air-Spade requires a minimum of 175 CFM (most air compressors are 175 or 185 CFM)
- Arborists typically rent a 185 CFM air compress and set the PSI at 100 or more
- Operating the Air-Spade at higher then required CFM or PSI is fine, but lower then required results in poor performance
- Some moisture is needed in the soil to make it more poruous. Consider soaking ground that is totally dry before use.
